How we can help - Do I have to pay VAT?

Published by Richard Parry on 17th Dec 2018

This depends on where you live and if you’re a business or consumer.

If you’re in the UK you must pay VAT regardless of if you are a business or consumer. If you’re a business and VAT registered, you could be able to claim the VAT back from HMRC. The only exception is if you’re in the Isle of Man or Guernsey where VAT regulations are different, or if you are in the government/MOD.

If you’re within the EU (outside the UK) then you will also have to pay VAT unless you have a valid VAT number.

If you’re outside the EU then you do not have to pay VAT and you do not need a VAT number for this.

Our website allows the entry of a VAT number if applicable and also calculates the VAT depending on your billing country, so you can easily place orders online.

If you’d prefer to place an order by phone/email or have an exception to VAT within the UK please get in touch with our solution specialists and they would be happy to help.
