Custom 3U Server Appliance

We were approached by a UK data analytics company looking for a rackmount server chassis and complete server build solution that was branded and completely customised to their requirements.

We were presented with several challenging requirements for the chassis. The main requirements were;

1. 430mm Maximum depth
2. Full colour powder-coat and logo/model number print
3. The ability to install a water-cooling kit
4. A 5.25” bay with a special designed mounting system to hold their custom Crystalfontz LCD control module at the front of the chassis.
5. High performance and high reliability cooling.
6. Ability to use full length PCI add-on cards when needed.

Based on this brief we worked closely with our Taiwanese OEM manufacturer, In-Win, to design the full chassis and solution. This involved several meetings and CAD based presentations for the customers approval.

Once green-lighted the chassis went into immediate manufacture with a quantity of 150 units being supplied within 3 months.

Once delivered the chassis went through our own internal quality control processes and were signed off for full system assembly.

In addition to the OEM manufacture we also performed the full assembly of each system. This included the supply and installation of the internal components, such as the motherboard, CPU and RAM. We also installed the customer supplied software images and performed full stress testing with certification. This results in a full turn-key solution for our customer.

Our customer is very pleased with the results and continues to order full solutions from us.
